The Old Lion

An aged lion, exhausted by the passage of time and weakened by illness, lay on the ground nearing death. A wild boar suddenly charged at him, delivering a decisive blow with its tusks to avenge a long held grudge. Soon after, a bull charged at him with its horns, goring him as if he were a foe. Seeing that the mighty beast could be attacked without fear, a donkey then kicked him squarely on the forehead with its heels. As the lion was about to expire, he lamented, saying,"I have reluctantly endured the insults from the brave, but to suffer such indignities from you, a creature so disgraceful to nature, is truly to die a double death."
