The Old Lion

An old lion, tired and weakened by illness, lay on the ground near death. A wild boar saw him and quickly attacked, using its tusks to punish the lion for a past injury. Soon after, a bull charged and gored him with its horns, as if he were an enemy. Seeing that the lion was defenceless, a donkey kicked him hard in the forehead with its heels. As the lion was dying, he said,"I have had to accept the insults from the brave, but to be treated like this by you, who are a shame to nature, feels like a second death."
