# LingoOK Privacy Policy

LingoOK is a site for English reading, dictation, and AI Q&A. This file says what we collect, how we use it, and how you can control it.

## 1. What we collect

Sign-in is optional. You can read, dictate, and look up words without an account.

- Account: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and photo to identify you, store practice records, and show the leaderboard.
- Practice records: after sign-in, progress, scores, and answers from reading, dictation, exercises, and AI Q&A are stored on the server and may appear on the leaderboard.
- On this device: your English level, dictation progress, tutor history, and looked-up words stay in this browser (localStorage). They are not uploaded with your account.
- Dictionary cache: looked-up glosses are cached on our server as a shared word bank. That cache does not include your name or email.
- AI Q&A: your question and the current article or dictation sentence are sent to a model service to teach or to correct how you asked.
- Feedback: when you send feedback, we store the message, page path, and reply email. Signed-in feedback uses your account email; anonymous feedback requires an email you provide.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising tracking cookies.

## 2. How we use it

- Provide sign-in, practice history, and the leaderboard.
- Teach words and check dictation and exercises at your level.
- Cache dictionary entries so the same word opens faster next time.
- Run and protect the site.
- Read feedback and send a response to the email attached to it.

The sign-in session uses cookies and a JWT. There is no third-party ad pixel.

## 3. Third parties

- Google: optional sign-in.
- Model / AI gateway: answers and question correction.
- Dictionaries: Free Dictionary API, Wiktionary, and other public data.
- Content sources: TED, VOA, BBC, NASA, Project Gutenberg, Wikipedia, and similar publishers, used only as study material.
- Resend: delivery of administrator replies to feedback, when email delivery is configured.

## 4. Your choices

- You can use most features without signing in.
- You can sign out at any time.
- You can clear this site’s local data in your browser (level, dictation progress, tutor history, word cache).
- Signed-in records stay on the server. To delete account-linked records, contact the site operator.
- You can ask the site operator to delete feedback and its associated email address.

## 5. Updates

When this policy changes, we update the month on this page and in this file. Using the site after that means you have seen the new text.
